GCSDA ADULT SABBATH SCHOOL QUARTERLY IN ERROR……AGAIN! <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"></HEAD> <BODY TEXT="#FFFFFF" LINK="#0000ff" VLINK="#551a8b" ALINK="#ff0000" BGCOLOR="#000000"> <P><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><SPAN STYLE="font-size: 14pt"><font size="5">GCSDA ADULT SABBATH SCHOOL QUARTERLY IN ERROR..AGAIN!</font></SPAN></font></P> <P><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><SPAN STYLE="font-size: 14pt">The Teachers'' edition of the Senior Sabbath School Quarterly for the second quarter of this year, 2003, is proclaiming error to it''s students!* Notice what is found on page 27 of the Teacher''s Quarterly for April 9, 2003:</SPAN></font></P> <P><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><SPAN STYLE="font-size: 14pt"><EM>"But not only did Christ die for our sins, He freed us of our sins by taking them upon Himself. We no longer need to bear the guilt of sin. At the cross there is both retribution and restoration. There is punishment for sin and deliverance from sin.</EM></SPAN></font></P> <P><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><SPAN STYLE="font-size: 14pt"><EM>The Lord is the God of the Old and New Testament. He requires obedience to His law and demands justice when that law is broken; but He also shows mercy by forgiving us when we disobey His law and promises to restore us at His second coming to a sinless state."</EM></SPAN></font></P> <P><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><SPAN STYLE="font-size: 14pt">What you see here friends, is salvation without conditions of any kind! This kind of teaching sounds right in line with the justification ''only'' theology of the Evangelicals and Adventist teachers such as Jack Sequira.</SPAN></font></P> <P><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><SPAN STYLE="font-size: 14pt">Lets look at what is really being said in these statements:</SPAN></font></P> <P><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><SPAN STYLE="font-size: 14pt"><EM>1. </EM><SPAN STYLE="text-decoration: underline">Christ died for our sins</SPAN>. <EM>This is absolutely true and is in accordance with the word.</EM></SPAN></font></P> <P><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><SPAN STYLE="font-size: 14pt">2. <SPAN STYLE="text-decoration: underline">Christ freed us from our sins by taking them upon Himself</SPAN>. <EM>Jesus made the provision on Calvary to free us from our sins, </EM><STRONG><EM>but this is contingent</EM></STRONG><EM> upon our confessing and forsaking our sins.. true repentance! "</EM><STRONG><EM>"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.""</EM></STRONG> 1 John 1:9.</SPAN></font></P> <P><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><SPAN STYLE="font-size: 14pt"><STRONG><EM>3. </EM></STRONG><SPAN STYLE="text-decoration: underline">We no longer need to bear the guilt of our sin</SPAN>. <EM>While this is true we have to understand that as long as we are unrepentant, our guilt remains with us.. we ''</EM><STRONG><EM>bear the guilt of our sin.''</EM></STRONG></SPAN></font></P> <P><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><SPAN STYLE="font-size: 14pt"><EM>4. </EM><SPAN STYLE="text-decoration: underline">There was both retribution and restoration</SPAN>. <EM>Jesus did receive </EM><STRONG><EM>retribution</EM></STRONG><EM> for our sins at the cross. However, </EM><STRONG><EM>restoration</EM></STRONG><EM> is only provided when we experience conversion and this is conditional upon our repenting and confessing our sins.. it cannot happen before!</EM></SPAN></font></P> <P><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><SPAN STYLE="font-size: 14pt"><EM>5. </EM><SPAN STYLE="text-decoration: underline">There is punishment for sin and deliverance from sin.</SPAN><EM> Deliverance from our sin is conditional upon the repenting and forsaking of our sin. If we fail to repent and forsake our sin, we will bear the punishment for our sin. </EM></SPAN></font></P> <P><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><SPAN STYLE="font-size: 14pt"><EM>6. </EM><SPAN STYLE="text-decoration: underline">Christ forgives us when we disobey His law.</SPAN><EM> Scripture is clear that forgiveness is conditional. Otherwise, we would have a license to sin.. God forbid!</EM></SPAN></font></P> <P><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><SPAN STYLE="font-size: 14pt"><EM>7. </EM><SPAN STYLE="text-decoration: underline">He promises to restore us at His second coming to a sinless state.</SPAN><EM> Here we see the culmination of these errors! What is being taught is that we are ''born sinners'' (the Doctrine of Original sin) and we cannot be free from sinning until Jesus personally comes and changes us at the second coming. This smacks in the face of all Jesus came to do! Christ makes it possible for us to be free from sin RIGHT NOW! "</EM><STRONG><EM>"And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people <SPAN STYLE="text-decoration: underline">from</SPAN> their sins.""</EM></STRONG><EM> </EM>Matthew 1:21. <EM>Jesus came to save us ''</EM><STRONG><EM>from''</EM></STRONG><EM> our sins and not '</EM><STRONG><EM>'in''</EM></STRONG><EM> our sins. How can our guilt be removed if we are constantly sinning by breaking God''s law?</EM> (See 1 John 3:4). <EM>Also beloved, only a new body and immortality is provided at the second coming.</EM></SPAN></font></P> <P><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><SPAN STYLE="font-size: 14pt">Once again we see that the GCSDA is espousing the teachings of Rome!</SPAN></font></P> <P><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><SPAN STYLE="font-size: 14pt">*Based on an article in ''The Remnant Herald,'' June 2003 edition.</SPAN></font></P>
