Hospitals Unveil Sculptures Portraying Assurance and Restoration

Denver, Colorado, USA ... [ANN]
-------------------------------------
Three Seventh-day Adventist hospitals in the greater Denver area unveiled identical sculptures entitled "Eden Restored" during the Easter weekend. Installed by each front entrance, sculptures were unveiled on Good Friday, April 21, at Porter Adventist Hospital and at Littleton Adventist Hospital, and the following day at Avista Adventist Hospital.

"The bronze sculptures symbolize the unique mission of the hospitals in the PorterCare Adventist Health System," says
Stephen King, director of mission and ministry. "Our corporate mission is to
provide renewed hope, health and well-being for people in our communities.'" King
believes that nationally recognized sculptor Victor Issa of Loveland, Colorado, has captured the hospitals' mission and values. Two years in creation, the art work is a gift funded through a mission donation.

Issa is the artist creating a sculpture to be unveiled in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, on June 29, during the opening ceremonies of the 57
th Session of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. [Charlotte McClure]

*EDITORIAL COMMENT: Adventist News Network (ANN) made no mention of the Catholic/Adventist alliance that is in place nor of the Catholic member's majority on these hospital boards. Nor was it mentioned that this merger in Denver required the Pope's official sanction.
