Brother Marion,
Pastor John does not have e-mail and his e-mail comes to me for distribution.
Therefore, I forwarded your letter to Pastor Mike, our associate pastor, and
he did show both your letter and his reply to Pastor John. I am again forwarding
this to Pastor Mike to be responded to according to Pastor John's direction.
Thanks for your concern for our ministry.
God Bless,
Janet Headrick

Subject: Of Whom Does Your Translation Really Testify?
Dear Brother Grosboll,
Thank you for having someone answer our letter. I assume that you read that
response and are in 100% agreement with the thoughts that were presented. It
was stated that "you do not preach from the English Translation of any
sort but you use the Hebrew Old Testament and the Greek New Testament." Please
tell us from what manuscripts were these taken?
It was also stated that you folks were well aware of the controversy that has
been generated by the books that were mentioned in our letter. By the way these
books did not generate the controversy. The controversy comes when people arise
and present the truth about these modern corrupted versions. The books that
we mentioned included B.G. Wilkinson's classic "Our Authorized Bible Vindicated" along
with H.H.Meyers book "The Battle of the Bibles". Both of these are
done in a highly scholarly manner and are highly accurate. We could have also
included numerous others. Ms. Riplinger's book according to your letter "contains
so many mistakes that it looses credibility very rapidly." Would you be
so kind as to point out 10 major errors in Ms Riplinger's book that would alter
the true meaning of the scriptures. That would be very helpful to us!
It might be well to review the literary and educational qualifications of the
author's of the King James Bible. Fifty four men were selected to work on the
translation. Of these men all spoke and mastered Greek and Hebrew and many
masterd several others, while a few spoke comfortably in 15 or 20 languages.
These men were divided into groups and assigned different parts of the scriptures
to translate into English. They worked independently and then brought their
works to their group for approval, changes,or corrections. Then two of these
from each group met with the larger group composed of two members each of the
rest of the groups to make final corrections and come to an agreement. This
final work was reviewed and reviewed some 14 times before presenting the final
draft which is the King James Bible. These men were also of the highest integrity
and spiritual quality. Being honest men, they italicised any words that they
added that were not found in the original manuscript. If fifty scholars worked
an average of 5 years, this would represent some 250 years of work from the
most learned and pious men of that era. It would not be possible to find 50
scholars in our day that could even come close to having the qualifications
of that illustrious group. God must have prepared those idividuals in a very
special manner and at the exact time in our history when they were needed to
do this translation.
Brother John, if you do not preach from the English translations, but your
own literal translation, you must be highly qualified and fluent in both the
Greek and Hebrew! Have you ever preached a sermon in Greek? Have you ever preached
a sermon in Hebrew? Would you be able to carry on a scholarly study with other
people who speak only Greek or only Hebrew? Would you even be able to carry
on a simple conversation? Would you please answer these important questions?
Even if you could preach in the original languages, you are in all actuality
presenting your own translation. Is it even as accurate as some of the corrupt
versions? Is it causing confusion and controversy? You should make it clear
to your listeners that when you state that the Bible verses used are a literal
translation that you mean your own personal literal translation and that you
are not preaching from any English translation as was stated in the letter
to us. The letter to us stated that no one at Steps is interested in depreciating
the King James Version of the Bible, however that is exactly what you are doing.
If we looked at the translators of the modern versions we would find men that
added words without indicating so with italics or footnotes, deleted whole
sections of the scriptures,in addition of not believing in the first 3 chapters
of Genesis. You are probably familiar with Westcott,Hort, Lightfoot and others
that succeeded in making modern versions that were closely aligned with the
Catholic version. These men worked to bring their agnostic and Catholic beliefs
into the new versions and boasted that these new versions would sound the death
knell to protestantism. For example in Isaiah 14:12,the King James version
states," How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning." However,
the NIV states "How art thou fallen from heaven, O morning star, son of
the dawn." In Revelation 22:16 the KJV identifies who the morning star
is: "I Jesus have sent my angel to testify unto you these things in the
churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning
star." So who is the morning star? Your response to us was," We encourage
folks to use whatever version they feel confident with." Is not this an
echo of what was said in the Garden of Eden to Eve by the flying serpent? [ "in
the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as
gods, knowing good and evil." Gen. 3:5]
Can you not see that these modern versions are preparing the way for the ecumenical
movement to be accepted by ALL churches including SDA conference and historic
church groups. These are the STEPS that lead back to Rome, and eternal death,
not TO LIFE.
Brother John, please consider prayerfully our letter of deepest concern, for
the direction you are taking is effecting many precious souls for an eternity.
May the Lord guide you as you submit to His leading.
We can put full confidence in the King James Bible that God has carefully prepared
and preserved for His people to enable them to clearly give the 3 Angels Messages
of warning to a dying world.
"Thy WORD is lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path."Ps.119:105
With warm regards and prayers,
Marion and Gwen Pritchard
P.S. John, if you have time we would appreciate a reply from you personally!
Thank you!
