Some Sage Comments
Good morning Bob,
I trust you slept well. A portion of my sleep was spent on the things I could have said the other night and forgot. Granted it was late on my end, but if I may, I would like to give you more to put in your arsenal regarding the separating from the world and/or from a worldly church.
When Messiah was here, did He EVER lead anyone into Judaism? Did He ever lead anyone into the local chosen denomination? He never did. He pointed out the errors of the established religion and if anything He led people out of that denomination and into the light of truth. There were times when he simply pointed out the errors of the established religion without telling them to come out. But what is the natural inclination of people if they see that the infrastructure of a building is rotten and decayed? They want to get out, or they SHOULD want to get out of it. So if the building later collapses on them what can they say? "But Father, you said you were going to protect and preserve us! The church is supposed to go through!! What happened?" What happened is they trusted and relied too much on the corporate structure and too little in the Name of YHWH. Proverbs 18:10 again, The name of YHWH is a strong tower, the righteous runneth into it and is safe. That, Bob, is the only structure I want to be in. If you are interested, I can show you in Scripture that YHWH is pronounced Yahoowah phonetically, not Yahweh.
All His disciples and apostles were the called out ones. Called out of what? The established "church". This was the same assembly that was supposedly established by the Creator through Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Indeed, Israel was supposed to have THE established religion in the land, but they apostatized and the Shekinah Glory left them and has NEVER returned! Now how in the world can honest SDA's sit in their pews and say, well, we see that the structure is rotten, and 100 years ago, Sister Ellen said that not one in 20 in Adventism will be saved, but the CHURCH will go through? If YHWH left His chosen assembly because of apostasy before, how and why do SDA's believe that today, He is somehow going to captain a ship that has become an abomination to Him and His law? I believe it is the MESSAGE of historic Adventism that will go through, not the infrastructure. In fact, near the end, unless all denominations capitulate to the demands of Rome and the New World Order, they will be destroyed. So either way, the "church" as we know it will go away, either going along with Rome or destroyed, only the people with a message will remain. I don't know why people can't read THIS into the statements that Sister Ellen is making about the church going through. If the word "church" did not mean a structure in Scriptural times, rather it meant the called out ones, why can't it mean the same thing today or the time of the end?
Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Tithing to an apostate corporate church is not only funding their abomination, it is in essence, finding no fault with it. Put your money where your mouth is? No, put your money where your heart is. I, like you, find ministries and people who are doing the Father's will and support them with what the Father has blessed me with.
Also, what system of tithes and offerings was established in the Word? Messiah was the Author of the Old Testament, what did He say to Moses, and what did He practice while here? It is written that three times in the year, all males were to appear before YHWH. I know you have nothing to do with the feasts, but maybe you should rethink your position. The three "traveling feasts", listed in the covenant (the perpetual covenant) were the times when a tenth of the increase was to be brought as a tithe for the Levites. It wasn't a weekly offering and it was of agricultural goods not money. This is the system that Messiah supported in His lifetime on earth. After all, those festivals and the command to attend was written in the covenant. Many believe the covenant to only be the Ten Commandments which is not true. The Almighty had more to say, but Israel ran screaming from the foot of the mount. Everything He had to say to Israel that day is listed from Exodus 20:1 to Exodus 23:33. Exodus 24 has Israel ratifying the covenant. Later, the tablets of stone are called the tables of the covenant, Deuteronomy 9:9, Deuteronomy 9:11, Deuteronomy 9:15, and Hebrews 9:4. The simple fact is that there was writing on both sides of the tables of stone. The Ten Words were on one side, and we are left to sift through the evidence to discover what was written on the other side. The fact that they are called the tables of the Covenant kind of answers this question for all time. The rest of the covenant is on the back side.
First of all, Exodus 32:15 is where Moses tells us that the tablets of stone had writing on both sides. Apparently writing on both sides of a document is not uncommon for Divinity as He is shown writing on both sides of other important documents. See Ezekiel 2:9-10, and Revelation 5:1. After Moses broke the first tables of the covenant, the covenant is restated in truncated form in Exodus 34:10-28, (but read the whole chapter). It is this shortened version that is on the back of the second set of the tables of stone that is still secreted away with the Ark of the Covenant somewhere. And in this shorted version of the perpetual covenant are again listed the same three annual feasts. This is why I believe you need to rethink your position on these three festivals. They are part of the unchanging law of Universe. Please understand, the sacrifices are not listed in the petpetual covenant, and were indeed done away with according to Daniel 9:27, but the appointments in time are still commanded and can be observed with a holy convocation as commanded in Leviticus 23 without the blood sacrifices and oblations (or offerings). Remember, Passover day is not the Passover lamb. If you no longer observe the festivals because of the blood sacrifices on those days, then you need to give up the weekly Sabbath because there were twice as many blood sacrifices on the Sabbath. Those with this kind of logic does not compute. We need to be consistent.
The weekly Sabbath is called a feast in Leviticus 23:1-3, in fact it is the first feast. If it can now be observed as a holy convocation minus the blood sacrifices, so can the annual Sabbaths.
In closing, tithing is a statute, not a commandment, and oddly enough it
is not part of the perpetual covenant. Tithing was to support the Levites.
There is
no Levitical priesthood active presently and I have heard two separate
thoughts concerning this. 1. We don't have to tithe presently because there
is no Levitical
priesthood. 2. Because there is no Levitical priesthood, we can select
those who we feel are doing the work of the Father on earth and support them
with out
tithes and offerings. I would rather err on the side of prudence, so
I follow thought #2. I certainly do not want to be guilty of supporting a corrupt
system,
nor to be guilty of not giving of my Yah-given means at all.
I haven't heard from you in a while. Have I scared you off? What I am
sharing is the truth. It is backed up with 2-3 Seriptural witnesses. I am just
sowing
seeds, the soil of your heart will prove itself.
Be blessed,
Troy
