Vanuatu Evangelistic Crusade
Here are some news about the Evangelitical Project
As was planned, The Lay members of Vanuatu is busy preparing for the Evangelistical Meeting in the Capital next month. The meeting will be conducted by Pr Harold Peiko, an Evangelist from Papua New Guinea.
Preparation for the meeting is well underway. According to the progressive report the first stage has been completed. It began when leaders and members of Pango, Namburu and Sorovango Self Support Churches
had a combined reconciliation church service in Pango Church on 22nd March 2003. The meeting was conducted by Pr Timothy Kaio. This only took place after the disfellowshipped of Arnold Masseng who had been harboured by Pango Church for more then four years.
Despite the Biblical warning against adultery echoed by Namburu church of whom Arnold involved with, Pango
ignored it until the recent case (happened December2002) with the chiefs daughter that Pango Church had no option but to disfellowship.
Tears of joy were shared as leaders of the three churches confessed their differences and voices of unity echoed among the congregation. Following that a body consist of the Elders was established to take
care of the Self Support Work in Vanuatu rather then individual Second phase of the plan had carried out as well.
Fourteen lay workers were flown from all over Vanuatu into Vila for a one week Door to Door workshop. Again
the course was conducted by Pr Kaio. It began on the 26th March to the 3rd April 2003. After the course the Layworker return to their Island field. Mean while the ones that are here have began the ground work of door to door. Every Laymen will be here next week to help them with the final 2 weeks of preparing the candidate before the meeting begins.
ISLAND NEWS
Two Independent Ministry Pastors, Pr John George, Pr Thomson Bule and Elder George Lawrence had spent almost two months in Ambae conduction three separate meeting in thee villages. After the meeting, 18 newly candidates were baptized into the self support churches. Devels Rock Church is one of the strong hold Conference Church had decided during that time to bethe Self Support Church.
Epi is an island that is made up of mostly Presbyterians. Reports from Sami Johnson (Layman) conformed that a new self support church had recently established with 30 baptised members. A Revivalchurch family of 7 members have completed theirstudies and are waiting for a baptismal ceremony.
Self Support Church is rapidly growing in the Southern part of this country. According to the report presented by Layman Iamak , total number of the present Self Support churches has risen to 17 Churches with an approximate membership of 1000 altogether. Pr Kaio has left for Tanna on the 2nd of April 16, 2003 to conduct another set of baptism which is to be held on the 19th April 16, 2003. Before coming to Vila for the laymen's workshop he baptized newly 6 candidates.
Still on the Southern field, in the village of Port Patrick a full Conference Church including the Conference Lay Minister have taken their stand to move away from the Conference and joined the Self Support Church. The reason put forward by this conference worker was that the Biblical Truth is not inside the Conference Church, it is in the Self Support Churches.
There is much need for cloths and Bibles Schools As the church grows there is need for Christian Education. So far we have established four schools in Vanuatu. One in Port Vila (Sorovanga Primary and Junior Secondary Self Support School), one in Ambrym Island (Ambrym Primary Self Support School) and two in Ambae (NudiNudi and Red Cliffe Self Support Primary Schools).
This year Sorovango has an enrollment of 600 studients and 23 teachers. Few developments has taken place in this school. The school introduces year 11 as well as offering vocational courses. Courses that the school offers are Carpentry, Motor Mechanic, Agriculture, Accounting and Electrical. Right now the school is preparing for the room for the computer course. Telecom Vanuatu has installed a free internet line for the students who will be taking the computer studies.

Dear Brethern,
Macedonia Call !
Pastor, Can you solicit this fund on our behalf? let me know if you can.
Acts 16:9 And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.
Greetings to you all in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ from Vanuatu. This year will be another year of busy work for our Ministry. Preparation in under way to lead more people to know Christ and get them ready to meet him when He comes.
The big project for Laymembers Ministry this year is to launch a big Evangelistic Crusade in Port Vila town during this coming May. Pastor Harold Peiko from Papua New Guinea has confirmed to be here to conduct a three weeks serries of meetings. He is also schedule to conduct a layman training course during his staying in here. The date of the meeting is 11th to the 31st May 03. A Baptism ceremony will be conducted at the end of the meeting.
This week we are working to bring down 10 laymen from our outer islands to begin conducting cottage meeting around the town preparing the candidate for this event. After the meeting they will still be here for another six weeks to do the following up program to ensure that the new candidates are rooted in the word of God.
The project will be quiet an expensive one since we will use all the available avenues to get the message across to the people who are living in Port Vila town as well as the rural areas.
The avenue for this meeting is going to be out in the open air. Saralana Stadium is the location to which the meeting will be staged. It can accommodate one to two thousand people in one gathering.
The meeting will also be broadcasted alive through FM station of the radio Vanuatu.
During the meeting transport will be provided by the ministry for the interested candidates only. They will be transported from and back to their homes. This service is provide for those who may have interest in attending the meeting but can not afford to.
Solicited Means From Those Able to Bestow—“Men of prayer should be men of action. Those who are ready and willing, will find ways and means of working. Nehemiah did not depend upon uncertainties. The means which he lacked he solicited from those who were able to bestow.”— Southern Watchman, March 15, 1904.
By just reading this, our Ministry can not afford all the costs that are involved. We need a hand to support this project. Is there any way that you can be part of this project by just donating how much you can to save the lives of these sin, sick soul? We are not asking for more then what you can not do.
