Catholic Bible Verses

The Christian is to worship God. No problem. But when does it become worship done in vain? When they pray, honor and have their hearts far from Christ because they have for taught truth, the commandments of men. Catholic leaders have taught their members with commandments of their revision; say praying to graven images or replacing Sunday for the Sabbath, not to mention additional Catholic Laws and Canon Laws. The Christian's heart is to one with God's heart in worship, not distanced by man made commandment in between.

LUKE 4:5-8

And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, showed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.

And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them:for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.

If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.

And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan:for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

In an effort for Satan to undo the plan of salvation, knowing the power he has been allow, he offers Jesus ruling power over all the kingdoms of the world. Clearly Jesus rejected it. But is that the end of the story? The power is still there to be taking, and what Jesus rejected, the early Catholic leaders onward accepted through deception whereas the Catholic Church, as mentioned above, is the largest religious body on earth. This is also revealed prophetically in the book of Revelation 13.

LUKE 6:46

And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

The definition of the word 'Lord' is a person who has authority, control or power over others. Master, Ruler.

The question is who is Jesus to the Christian, Catholic or Protestant when they call and ask on Jesus as Lord and don't do the things that He asks them of, namely in obedience.

LUKE 11:44

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are as graves which appear not, and the men that walk over them are not aware of them.

This passage is an extension of Matthew 24 above about the whiten graves. Here, the leaders of Jesus' time and of the Catholic leaders now are shown to be as grave plots which can't be seen for what they are. And people, who would normally have the respect or culture not to walk on known graves, walk over them ignorantly, symbolizing how they don't know how deceptive they are.

LUKE 12:1-3

In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all,

Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.

Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.

Beware #2, Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees. The 'leaven' is symbolic for food, what the Pharisees feed its members in the way of teaching, doctrines etc. it's the same with Catholicism. Their teaching and doctrines are based on other society's traditions and not on Scripture. The point being here is what Catholicism does in this hypocritical deception in secret is being revealed. It would be enough just to cover things of teachings and doctrines, but regrettably Catholicism through its secret orders has attempted throughout its history to so control and change political and social events and times stealthily, that Jesus tells all will be revealed.

JOHN 14:15

If ye love me, keep my commandments.

It can't be put any plainer. If you love Jesus, if you really love Him, you'll keep HIS commandments and not another's.

ACTS 5:29

Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

This scripture is too ironic. Peter, supposedly the first Pope, along with the others Apostles, challenge their accusers that they should obey God rather than men, and yet Catholic leaders deceitfully ask their member to obey men rather than God.

ACTS 17:22-30

Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars' hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious.

For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.

God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;

Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;

And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;

That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:

For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device.

And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

Paul appeals to the men of Athens Greece to not think of God as though He has to have superstitious devotions, graven images, art work etc. made to Him of gold, silver, stone or whatever to be worshipped, praised and honored.

He doesn't dwell in temples or magnificent churches made with hands. Then the times of this ignorance God winked at, forgiven them, but now not. The command is to repent of physical graven image worship after the second commandment.

Beware #3 The earnest 'unspoiled' Christian is told to beware against being polluted by philosophy, vain deceit, the tradition of men and the rudiments of the world. Yet this is what happened to the Catholic members over the years. The leaders took the primitive Gospel and philosophized it into fairy tales. They catered to a person's vanity not to surrender self to Christ. The traditions of men were already addressed and the rudiments of the world are just present issues of society and culture that can captivate the members where traditions leave off.

And 2) that man of sin be revealed , the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. Now these are the words of God and if there was a question of who this could be for arguments sake, I would welcome it. From the Middle Ages with the Protestant Reformation, Most Protestants from Martin Luther onward have applied the Papacy, the ongoing system of Popes to the man of sin because saving its members from their sins is not their main concern. Numerous publications over the years have showed the Papacy to have exceeded anything Christ ever intended for his subsequent leaders to be.

1 TIMOTHY 4:1-3

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

2 PETER 2:1, 21

But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

2 JOHN 7

For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

If this means this: the Catholic leaders who deceive have changed the teaching of the nature of Jesus as He was here on earth. He came in the sole human nature of a man without any of the powers of God to do the works He did while here:perform miracles, heal the sick, raise the dead and die on the Cross. He did this all as a man. The Catholic leaders teach that Jesus came as part God - part man invoking the power of God as needed thorough His life. This is senseless. What is the value of Jesus' sacrifice if He didn't achieve solely as man. This is how they don't confess that Jesus Christ came in the flesh.

REVELATION 17:1- 6, 9, 18

And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:

With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.

So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness:and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.

And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:

And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus:and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.

And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.

Up till now, the verses shown above were of a realistic nature. Realistic comments, realistic warnings. Now comes the book, Revelation, a book of prophecy, in which everything portrayed in prophetic symbols is to be interpreted as real events and subject matter. The gift of Prophecy in the church is normally given and explained in levels of intensity:minor to major. Revelation 17 & 18 here are major prophecies. Each symbol can be defined by other Bible verses, which in this paper would take pages to explain. So the main symbols are going to be out rightly defined and explained based on the passages here.

1) The great whore and the woman who sits on the beast are one in the same, the Papacy.

2) She is dressed in purple and red, which are the chief colors of the church.

3) Decked with gold, precious stones and pearls depicts the church's wealth.

4) Her title Mystery, Babylon the great, the mother of harlots and abominations of the earth show an identity with the ancient world empire Babylon of which the Papacy drew a number of its rites and practices out of.

5) She is a mother and her children are those Protestant churches which when separated from Roman Catholicism, kept most of the same practices and beliefs Roman Catholicism held.

6) The woman is drunk with the blood of saints and martyrs of Jesus which reveals the persecuting history of the Catholic Church over time. No other Christian church in history was a persecuting church as was the Papacy.

7) John wondered with great admiration. Yet this admiration is not positive. It's really negative because he can't believe he's seeing the greatest system in the world is supposed the Church of Jesus Christ and its not.

9) Roman Catholicism is that great Church (to the world) which "has" reigned over the kings of the earth, as history shows and will still reign until the Second Coming of Christ.

REVELATION 18:1- 7, 24

And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.

And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.

And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.

Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works:in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.

How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her:for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.

And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.

The next chapter, 18, declares Babylon the great as having fallen. The church fell from God, from Truth. Look how she is described from verse 1 through 7. And then the last line:"And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth. Note there are three groups here where their blood was found in her. History again defines the killing of prophets and saints, but history doesn't show how the Papacy can be responsible for the blood of all that were slain upon the earth. Only the Great White Throne Judgment of Christ will show how this can be.

REVELATION 22:14

Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

One of the last verses in the Bible and what is the subject:the blessing given to those who are obedient to doing Jesus' commandments. They will have right to the tree of life; they will enter through the gates of New Jerusalem.

Will you?

The following are Old Testament verses that are contrary to the Catholic teaching and practices.

ECCLESIASTES 5:1

Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools:for they consider not that they do evil.

The Mass

ECCLESIASTES 12:13, 14

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter:Fear God, and keep his commandments:for this is the whole duty of man.

For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

This is our whole duty. The Catholic Church does not wholeheartedly teach this.

EZEKIEL 22:2, 26

Now, thou son of man, wilt thou judge, wilt thou judge the bloody city? yea, thou shalt shew her all her abominations.

Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things:they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they shewed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.

The 'her' here is the Papacy.

DANIEL 7:25

And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws:and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

The 'he' here is the Papacy.

MALACHI 2:1, 5-9

And now, O ye priests, this commandment is for you.

My covenant was with him of life and peace; and I gave them to him for the fear wherewith he feared me, and was afraid before my name.

The law of truth was in his mouth, and iniquity was not found in his lips:he walked with me in peace and equity, and did turn many away from iniquity.

For the priest's lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth:for he is the messenger of the LORD of hosts.

But ye are departed out of the way; ye have caused many to stumble at the law; ye have corrupted the covenant of Levi, saith the LORD of hosts.

Therefore have I also made you contemptible and base before all the people, according as ye have not kept my ways, but have been partial in the law.

Though this prophecy certainly forewarns the Hebrews of the late Old Testament time, it's as equally a warning for all in religious authority in the New Testament time as well. The Papacy has departed out of the way, causing many to stumble at the Ten Commandments… being partial in the law.

MALACHI 3:6

For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.

The Lord does not change. He does not change in anything. The Ten Commandments don't change. The need of mankind to the obedience to them with the needed grace and righteousness by faith of Christ does not change. Nothing changes. Yet practically everything the Papacy holds for truth and duty of its members involves either the copying from other pagan religions or the changing of what the Godhead intended from the Truth from the beginning of the world.
