1929 Feb 11. Mortal wound healed by Benito Mussolini who gave pope full authority over state of Vatican = 108 acres. Pope now monarch as well as priest. Fulfillment of Rev 13:3.

1938 World War II to 1945.

1946 In Italy the Monarchy is abolished and Italy becomes a democracy. Fascist party is not allowed to hold any offices which are heirs of the house of Savoy.

1951 Harry Truman sends letter congratulating pope on being voted in. He tries to nominate ambassador to vatican but public protest was so strong that this was withdrawn.

1962 Vatican II council where documents seeking common ground with Jews and Protestants, and upholding religious freedom were approved.

1965 "Great Schism healed" = Mutual excommunication reversed between East and West churches

1985 Italian law abolished the Roman Catholic church as the official state religion and the end of mandatory religious instruction in public schools. Even though 84% of citizens = Catholic (only 25% go to church).

1984 Ronald Reagon quietly sends an ambassodor to Rome.

1990 Communism in Russia and the eastern block countries falls.

1994 Council of Inquistion reopened after not existing for many years.

1995 Worldwide Church of God goes back to Sunday worship and immediately half the church leaves (70,000).

1998 May 31 = papal document promoting observance of Sunday thus saying Sunday is the biblical Sabbath.

1999 August = Lutheran and Episcopal churches share pastors.

1999 Oct 31 = Lutheran, Catholic churches agree on how to get to heaven.

1999 Dec 24 = 300 denominations with pope open holy doors in the 4 Basilicas of Rome.
