Glorified, Sealed, Exalted, Perfected & Given The Holy Spirit

by Eugene (Cliff) Hinds

The feet are the direction of the heart/mind and walking is the application of the thoughts.

What would it mean to walk to and fro?

Amos 8:12 — And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it.

Is this an inward or an outward event?

I believe it is an inward event.

They are running to and fro seeking God and not finding Him.

2 Timothy 3:7 — Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Daniel 12:4 — But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

To run 'to and fro' seeking the seeking God and when they do this, knowledge shall be increased.

This is happening right now. God's people are running to and fro in the earth (their minds) listening for the still small voice to teach them, and as He teaches us, our knowledge is increasing.

2 Chronicles 16:9 — For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.

The eyes (understanding) of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth (are inside the minds of those who have ears to hear and whose hearts are perfect towards Him)

Job 1:7 — And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

Here we have the adversary walking to and fro IN the earth. Notice that He was in the earth and not on the earth.

'To walk' is the application of the thoughts in the earth, meaning one is searching his mind for the still small voice of God.

Do you think that this is a literal fallen angel walking inside of the earth, or do you think that this could be someone with an adversarial spirit, yet seeking the voice of God?

Did the Son of God have an adversarial spirit toward mankind?

Hosea 9:15 — All their wickedness is in Gilgal: for there I hated them: for the wickedness of their doings I will drive them out of mine house, I will love them no more: all their princes are revolters.

Genesis 6:6 — And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

Genesis 6:7 — And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.

Exodus 33:3 — Unto a land flowing with milk and honey: for I will not go up in the midst of thee; for thou art a stiffnecked people: lest I consume thee in the way.

Exodus 32:9,10 — And the LORD said unto Moses, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiffnecked people:

10 — Now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot against them, and that I may consume them: and I will make of thee a great nation.

Malachi 1:2,3 — I have loved you, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Was not Esau Jacob's brother? saith the LORD: yet I loved Jacob,

3 — And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness.

Exodus 4:24 — And it came to pass by the way in the inn, that the LORD met him, and sought to kill him.

2 Samuel 6:7 — And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for his error; and there he died by the ark of God.

Numbers 22:22 — And God's anger was kindled because he went: and the angel of the LORD stood in the way for an adversary [H7854] against him. Now he was riding upon his ass, and his two servants were with him.

Lets look at this word [H7854] that has been translated Satan, the adversary and one who withstands.

First, we will go to the Brown Driver Briggs Definition —

Brown Driver Briggs Definition:
1) adversary, one who withstands
a) adversary (in general - personal or national)
2) superhuman adversary
2a) Satan (as a proper noun) from H7853

Brown Driver Briggs Definition:
1) (Qal) to be or act as an adversary, resist, oppose

Now we will look at the Strongs Definition of [H7853] —

From H7853; an opponent; especially (with the article prefixed) Satan, the arch enemy of good: - adversary, Satan, withstand.

A primitive root; to attack, (figuratively) accuse: - (be an) adversary, resist.
Notice the word accuses. Satan is called the accuser of the brethren

Revelation 12:10 — And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.

When we, as Christians, come at each other with harsh words regarding the short-comings in each other, we are adversarial toward God because we have the spirit of Satan coming forth from our mouths.

Why towards God?

Matthew 25:40 — And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

Ye have done it unto me

Why did The Son of God have an adversarial spirit in the Old Testament and not in the New Testament?

That was before he was glorified, sealed, exalted and perfected and given the Holy Spirit.

John 7:39 — (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

John 12:16 — These things understood not his disciples at the first: but when Jesus was glorified, then remembered they that these things were written of him, and that they had done these things unto him.

John 12:23 — And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.

Acts 3:13 — The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go.

John 6:27 — Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.

Acts 2:33 — Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

Acts 5:31 — Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

Philippians 2:9 — Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

(made complete):

Luke 13:32 — And he said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox,(false teacher) Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.

Hebrews 5:8,9 — Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;

9 — And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

Given the Holy Spirit:

Acts 2:33 — Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

That is why Jesus could say when the prince of this world comes and he has nothing in me!

John 14:30 — Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.

He could not make that statement until after he was changed inwardly.

That adversarial spirit was gone in Him forever. He dried the seas! The things that needed to be corrected in His thinking were now fixed!

Isaiah 51:10 — Art thou not it which hath dried the sea, the waters of the great deep; that hath made the depths of the sea a way for the ransomed to pass over?

What did He need to have corrected? Crooked thinking. Crooked thinking is iniquity.

If you let your crooked thinking rule you, it will be sin.

The Son of God did not let it rule Him. He followed the Father's direction to rid Him of all of the crooked thinking that was inside of Him.

To Say that the Son of God had iniquity would get me thrown out of almost every church.

All sin is iniquity, however all iniquity [H5771] is not sin.

H5771 Iniquity
From H5753; perversity, that is, (moral) evil: - fault, iniquity, mischief,

A primitive root; to crook, literally or figuratively: - do amiss, bow down, make crooked, commit iniquity, pervert, (do) perverse (-ly), trouble, X turn, do wickedly, do wrong.

Notice the word crooked. It is crooked thinking.

It is a sin if you choose to remain in the shape that you are in. It is not a sin to be in that shape because you did not choose to be that way.

2 Samuel 7:13-16— He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever.

14 — I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men:

15 — But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before thee.

16 — And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.

Lets reread 2 Samuel 7:14 because it states something that is a little bit shocking.

2 Samuel 7:14 — I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men:

Did the Son of God have crooked thinking in the Old Testament? Did He have an adversarial spirit toward mankind?

Isaiah 53:5 — But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

1 Peter 2:24 — Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Why did the Son of God suffer? He was learning.

Hebrews 5:8 — Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;

Revelations 3:21 — To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

That is why the Son of God made this statement.

John 17:3 — And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

Jesus Christ called His Father the only true God because everything that He was inwardly came from His Father.

John 5:19 — Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

John 5:30 — I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

Everything that we, as Christians are inwardly, will come from the Son of God.

John 15:5 — I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
